The LEVERAGE Business Development Consultants are in the field every day, on web calls or on the phone, working with and for credit unions. This BDC Team takes charge of cultivating relationships and providing solutions to credit union clients via LEVERAGE products.

Sounds pretty simple, right? Not at all.

The LEVERAGE BDCs are the leaders when it comes to what new financial industry technology is working, meeting the needs of credit union members and what new technology is on the horizon. They are constantly on the look out and in the know. It’s what makes them one of the most successful teams in the country.

In case you don’t know them, here’s your chance to get to change that.

Karen Frazee is the leader of this eclectic crew. She serves as vice president of business development for LEVERAGE, a subsidiary of the League of Southeastern Credit Unions & Affiliates.

Karen has been with LEVERAGE for almost four years.

Notably, Karen, a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, has more than 20 years of experience in sales and business development, including with LEVERAGE as a business development consultant.

What Karen most enjoys about her position is helping credit unions grow and prosper by offering products that fit the needs of great clients in a variety of areas. She also provides strategic insight to support the continued growth for LEVERAGE and clients.

What’s your favorite hobby? Biking

Greatest accomplishment?  Working three jobs while trying to support my children when they were younger

Best advice to credit unions for 2021?  Think outside the box to help your credit union grow and succeed in the best way possible.

Steve Pullara was recently promoted to Senior Business Development Consultant for LEVERAGE. Steve’s coverage area is the east coast and Central Florida including Tampa, Orlando, Gainesville, Jacksonville, Palm Beach, Ft. Lauderdale and Miami.

Steve has been a part of the LEVERAGE Team for 10 years and is a proud a graduate of Mercer University with more than 30 years of experience in sales, client development and support.

Which office to you work out of?  With my job, I’m remote but I can be found in the Tampa area most often.

What’s your favorite hobby?  Boating

Where is your favorite place you’ve traveled? England

Favorite quote?  It’s one of those days when the whole world is wearing a black tuxedo, and you are wearing brown shoes.

Pet-peeve?  Slurping on coffee

Which celebrity do you look like? On a good day JFK Jr. or Steve Young

Greatest accomplishment?  As I have gotten older, I feel my greatest accomplishment is helping others to succeed.

Best advice to credit unions for 2021?  Be proactive; don’t wait for things to happen; and make the necessary changes/adjustments yourself.

Donnette and SteveDonnette’ Logan has had an extensive and awarding career in broadcast journalism. Donnette’ served nearly 20 years as a sports reporter before deciding to leave broadcasting to focus on her family. In 2017 she joined LEVERAGE as a Business Development Consultant. Currently Donnette’ works with clients in Central and North Alabama as well Atlanta and the Columbus, Ga., area. During her broadcast career, she was awarded two EMMYs, an Edward R. Murrow Award and several journalism awards. When she’s not traveling for LEVERAGE she enjoys spending time with her husband and two bonus sons outdoors on the water, as well as doing freelance work on the sidelines for the National Federation High School Network and The Weekly Warrior Preview. Donnette’ is a graduate of The University of Mobile.

“Being able to work with credit unions to understand their needs and find solutions for them to be successful has been an exciting new chapter,” she said. “Knowing I am helping a community’s financial institution grow so they can help the people in their town is very rewarding.”

Which office to you work out of?  I am truly blessed to be able to work remote and work out of my home office

What’s your favorite hobby?  I love anything fitness related. I spend a lot of free time hiking or working out. Also, my family is a bunch of beach bums so we are normally always near the water.

Where is your favorite place you’ve traveled? I have to say my favorite place I traveled was the Grand Canyon. Seeing how that in person reminded me just how small our problems are in such a large world.

Favorite quote?  “Before you go to bed every night ask yourself one question, did you do all you could to be your best that day” -Apolo Ohno

Pet-peeve?  Negativity. People are so quick to complain about things in life, but when they stop and take a step back, they will see they are too blessed to be negative.

Which celebrity do you look like? Nev Campbell

Greatest accomplishment?  I am one of six siblings, all but two of us are adopted. My youngest sisters are 8 and 6. I think my biggest accomplishment is being an example for them and being the type of woman they can look up to.  Also, winning my Emmys, running 13 half marathons and two full marathons, and placing in competitive body building shows.

Song that makes you get up and dance?  I have so many.  I like to tell people music tells my story. If you call me during the day or happen to ride along with me you will always hear music playing in the background.

Best advice to credit unions for 2021?  I think the best advice I have for anyone, not just credit unions, is stop and take a deep breath and be willing to adjust. Our world has changed so much in the last year and it can be overwhelming, instead of letting it get the best of us, let’s use it to our advantage. How can we adjust to the change to be successful and help others? That is how we need to approach these changing times.

Taylor Sheffield is a Business Development Consultant for LEVERAGE, and she covers South Alabama as well as the Florida Panhandle. Taylor has been a part of the LEVERAGE Team for three years. Prior to joining the LEVERAGE team, she was a sales manager for Pine Belt Communications. She also is a proud a graduate of Marengo Academy with more than 11 years of experience in sales.

Which office do you work out of?  I work remote and am located in rural Alabama.

What’s your favorite hobby?  My favorite hobby is chasing my 2-year-old around! Other hobbies I enjoy are spending time with friends and family, being outdoors and hiking when I get the chance.

Where is your favorite place you’ve traveled? The Bahamas

Best advice to credit unions for 2021?  Don’t be afraid to try something new, always stay in touch and top of mind, prepare for the uncertainty and most importantly stick to the 5 P’s. 1.) Plan 2.) Process 3.) People 4.) Possessions 5.) Profits
