Celebrating International Credit Union Day With Our Members

Last week, the League of Southeastern Credit Unions & Affiliates (LSCU & Affiliates) celebrated International Credit Union (ICU) Day by being supporting communities with our fellow credit unions.

Our Member Engagement and Foundation teams travelled to Fort Myers, Naples, Coral Gables, Lehigh Acres areas where Hurricane Ian landed late last month to check in on our member credit unions and deliver goods. Throughout their visits to the six credit unions, spirits were high and appreciation for the credit union movement was felt everywhere.

Last Thursday, we were excited to visit Savannah, Georgia to join Congressman Buddy Carter, LSCU’s 2021 Federal Lawmaker of the Year, who spoke at the Savannah Coastal Empire Chapter of Credit Unions event.

We also welcomed a new credit union and a new branch to the LSCU family on ICU Day. LSCU employees attended the grand opening of Unity of Eatonville Federal Credit Union in Orlando, Florida and the ribbon cutting ceremony for Blue Coast Federal Credit Union’s new Tallahassee, Florida office. We are excited to see the credit union industry and our LSCU family grow with these two new openings.

These events come on top of many others in which we celebrated the many achievements of credit unions across Alabama, Florida, and Georgia, as well as the industry as a whole. Overall, it was wonderful to share the credit union spirit in person with our members on ICU Day and we look forward to celebrating again with you next year on Thursday, October 19, 2023!
