Common Cents Podcast: How the Southeastern Credit Union Foundation Helps Hurricane Ian Victims

Commons Cents, the League of Southeastern Credit Unions & Affiliates (LSCU & Affiliates) Podcast, has just released another episode. In this month’s edition, LSCU Podcast Host Mike Miller sits down with Bobbi Grady, the Director of the Southeastern Credit Union Foundation (SECUF), and Carrie Litherland, the Foundation Coordinator. The team discusses how the League and the Foundation worked together to make sure credit unions were prepared for Hurricane Ian and in the aftermath of the storm, what SECUF did to help credit unions, their employees, and volunteers, and why donations are always needed, especially for disaster preparedness and recovery efforts.

Bobbi is dedicated to the progressive professional development of credit union staff and volunteers, financial capability programs for all age groups, and the creation of valuable resources for our member credit unions and the communities they serve. You can find her with family and friends during her free time. Her favorite advice is, “instead of worrying about a future of unknowns, embrace the joy that is here in the present.”

Carrie supports the Foundation and its programs as the Foundation Coordinator. Even though she is based in Florida, she works on programs in all three of our states. Carrie loves to volunteer, kayak, hike, and spend time with family. Her favorite piece of advice is, “have the audacity to believe you can be part of the solution.
