Don’t forget to register for 2021 Virtual IRA Workshops

Consider this your friendly reminder to register for one (or both!) of the upcoming 2021 Virtual IRA Workshops.

The League of Southeastern Credit Unions & Affiliates has partnered with the Cornerstone League, the Michigan Credit Union League & Affiliates and Acensus — a financial services company — to host two Virtual IRA Workshops.

The Virtual IRA Essentials workshop on April 13 will give attendees confidence to deal with the basics of IRA transactions. Course topics will include:

  • Introduction and Establishing IRAs
  • IRA Funding
  • IRA Distributions
  • IRA Portability

The Virtual IRA Advanced Workshop will be held the next day, April 14, and will focus on more complex RIA issues tha tfinancial organizations may run across. Attendees of this session should have previous knowledge of IRA operations. Course topics include:

  • IRA Update
  • IRA Excess Contribution
  • Required Minimum Distributions
  • Beneficiary Options
  • Advanced Portability

Attendees of both workshops will walk away with a more solid understanding of handling retirement savings.

“Earning a member’s business on a consumer loan is one thing,” said Maureen Bock, LSCU’s vice president of education and training. “Having them entrust a credit union with their retirement savings is another. It is important that staff opening and servicing member’s IRA accounts are well trained. LSCU is excited to provide this in-depth two day IRA training workshop to increase staff skills and knowledge on an important product for the member and the credit union.”

Registration costs $219 for one course or $425 for both. Click here for more information and to sign up.
