Is your credit union ready for the next generation of leadership?

There’s no question: at some point, your credit union executives will need to hand leadership over to the next generation. Is your CU ready?

The League of Southeastern Credit Unions & Affiliates in partnership with the Florida State University College of Business will help credit unions answer that question with a free webinar Oct. 26 at 10 a.m. ET.

The webinar — titled “Tomorrow’s Credit Union Leaders: Will They Be Ready?” — will offer frank discussion on the critical need to develop tomorrow’s credit union leaders led by President of LSCU Jared Ross and Dr. Leff Bonney, associate professor of marketing in the Florida State University College of Business.

“We are at a critical point in this industry where there are more leaders retiring and leaving than at any other time — and this will continue for years with Baby Boomer retirements,” Jared said. “By 2030, all boomers (the second-largest generation at 75 million) will be 65+ years old. Succession planning for leadership positions in credit unions must be ongoing, with a thoughtful plan and high potential employees must be identified and cultivated as leaders. If not, the best talent will leave (or may have already left) for other opportunities.”

Jared and Bonney will explore topics including:

  • What credit unions are doing to prepare themselves for filling leadership gaps
  • What is at stake if credit unions do not prepare now
  • The best engagement tactics for emerging leaders
  • How future leaders can best learn the most valuable skills to drive the credit union forward.
