The League of Southeastern Credit Unions & Affiliates (LSCU) through the Credit Union National Association (CUNA) award platform recognized the Dade County Federal Credit Union for their outstanding outreach to their members and communities in 2020.
“We’re always pleased to celebrate the best of the best in an industry already known for its service to members – but this year in particular, we feel it’s vitally important to celebrate the credit unions that have gone all-in on demonstrating the credit union difference,” said Jared Ross, president of LSCU.
Dade County Federal Credit Union won both the Youth Desjardins Financial Education Award and the Dora Maxwell Social Responsibility Award.
The Youth Desjardins Financial Education Award recognizes leadership within the credit union movement on behalf of financial literacy for all ages. Credit unions could receive the award for all activities supporting the personal finance education of members and non-members. This includes face-to-face teaching using proprietary materials, as well as financial literacy leadership efforts.
The Dora Maxwell Social Responsibility Community Services Award honors a credit union or chapter/multiple credit union group for its social responsibility projects within the community. Credit unions could receive the award for their involvement in activities that help other people or strengthens the structure of a community, including raising funds for charity, educational activities, or community involvement projects.
Dade County Federal Credit Union has a chance to win an additional award in the national award program administered by CUNA. The results of the national contest will be announced in November.
