LSCU Year in Review

Throughout 2022, the League of Southeastern Credit Unions & Affiliates (LSCU & Affiliates) has been proud to work alongside you in navigating the lingering effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. While many aspects of the future remain uncertain, one thing that has not, and will not, waver is our commitment to serving you. This year, we progressively evolved to meet the current and future anticipated needs of our credit unions.

Earlier this year, we were thrilled to welcome Samantha Beeler to our team as President of the Association. With her, Beeler has brought a wealth of knowledge and expertise to our advocacy, compliance, member engagement, grassroots, and more. During her time here, she has already made strides in engaging credit unions of all sizes and bringing opportunity directly to you.

This summer, we were proud to kick off our annual convention, the Southeast Credit Union Conference & Expo (SCUCE) in Orlando, Florida, with record-breaking attendance. This year, we also saw the launch of two more LSCU Councils, bringing the total number of councils to eight. These councils have provided unique opportunities for credit union engagement among direct areas of discipline, such as accounting, lending, marketing, and more. Leading up to SCUCE, we even hosted the first-ever LSCU Council Conference providing an opportunity for field-specific professional development.

The LSCU Advocacy Team has been working extensively to promote credit union-friendly legislation and to block harmful policies and regulations. With your help, we celebrated major legislative successes this year through the passing of financial literacy legislation in all three states.

The continued goal of LSCU affiliation is to draw like-minded professionals together to facilitate important conversations and relationships that help keep credit unions at the forefront of the financial world. With you, LSCU is a BOLD Association. We create a sense of Belonging, we provide Opportunity, we advance credit unions through Leadership, and we are dedicated to the credit union Difference. Through bold action, intentional communication, and results-driven cooperation, LSCU is committed to ensuring success for your credit union at every level.

Below, you will find our LSCU Year in Review. We are excited for new things to come in 2023 and the chance to get back to an even greater sense of normal. Please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions.
