Support and Resources Available as Hurricane Milton Approaches

As we continue to recover from the impacts of Hurricane Helene, we are now closely monitoring the development of Hurricane Milton. Please know that the Southeastern Credit Union Foundation and the League are here to support you with the same resources we have been providing, and we remain prepared to assist you as this new storm approaches.

Our team will be contacting you individually to gather updates on your credit union’s status and to assess the needs of your branches, staff, and volunteers. In the meantime, if you anticipate any closures or have status updates, please fill out the Credit Union Status Report online form.

As this Storm has the potential to make landfall as a Category 4 Hurricane, we want to remind you of the resources available to help you and your teams during this time:

• Disaster Relief Grants: Our Disaster Relief Fund remains open to reimburse credit union staff and volunteers for costs incurred during Hurricane Helene, and it will stay open to provide similar support for those affected by Hurricane Milton. These grants can help cover expenses related to food, water, temporary shelter, transportation, and other essentials.
• Generators and Emergency Supplies: We have generators and emergency supplies available, and we will be ready to provide them as needed.
• NCUA Urgent Need Grants: The National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) offers urgent need grants of up to $7,500 for low-income institutions affected by these storms.

As we prepare for Hurricane Milton, we encourage you to take any necessary precautions and reach out to us if you require support. Whether it is preparing for the storm or recovering in its aftermath, our team is ready to assist in any way we can.
