Talking Primary Election Season and Advocacy on the Common Cents Podcast

Commons Cents, the League of Southeastern Credit Unions & Affiliates (LSCU & Affiliates) Podcast, is back with another episode. In the June edition, LSCU Host Mike Miller sits down with the LSCU Advocacy Team to talk about the results of the primary elections in Alabama and Georgia, how the team prepared for the elections and met with candidates beforehand, what to expect during the Florida primary, and also, the two very cool events the Advocacy Team has planned for the Southeastern Credit Union Conference & Expo (SCUCE), the advocacy luncheon and the silent auction.

You don’t want to miss this episode, which you can listen to at LSCUCommonCents.com or on your favorite podcast service (Apple, Spotify, Amazon, etc.).

Blake Westbrook is Deputy Director of Governmental Affairs for LSCU. He is focused on advocacy and grassroots efforts in Alabama and Georgia. Murphy Kennedy is also Deputy Director of Governmental Affairs for the League. Her efforts are focused on advocacy and grassroots in Florida. Both of them help raise money for LSCU Political Action Committees (PACs) that actively support and elect candidates for public office who share the credit union vision.

LSCU Host Mike Miller is the Communications Manager for the League. Mike, a former TV News Anchor who has worked for stations in Alabama, Georgia, and Texas, enjoys sharing stories from credit unions, lawmakers, and organizations that all further the credit union mission of “people helping people.”
