Credit Unions Helping Credit Unions Recover from Hurricane Ian

The credit union community across Alabama, Florida, and Georgia has truly leaned in to offer mobile branches, hot spots, and other resources to assist those impacted by Hurricane Ian. A true demonstration of the credit difference – credit unions who were directly impacted by the hurricane have offered support and resources to others in need.

Additionally, staff from the League of Southeastern Credit Unions & Affiliates delivered the first round of generators to areas across the coasts of Florida impacted by Hurricane Ian last week with more on the way.

Due to the devastating impacts of Hurricane Ian, millions of Floridians were left without power, homes, vehicles, and more. Please consider contributing to the Southeastern Credit Union Foundation or to CU Aid to assist credit unions, teams, and members in their recovery efforts.

Every penny contributed goes directly to credit union employees and volunteers in the event of a natural disaster like Hurricane Ian.

We are also requesting donations for those affected by Hurricane Ian. We are specifically looking for:

  • Generators
  • Hot Spots
  • Mobile Branches

For those affected, please be reminded there are several resources available to you, your family, and your teams during this difficult time:

To keep the League updated with your credit union’s status, please submit this form to CUstatus@lscu.coop or call Alisha Stair at (217) 853-4282.

Please stay safe and know we are ready to assist you during this time.
