Aaron Passman has been named editor of Credit Union Journal, effective Sept. 24. He succeeds Lisa Freeman, who spent more than 20 years with CU Journal, including serving since 2014 as editor in chief.

“It’s an understatement to say that I’ve got some big shoes to fill,” said Passman, who spent nearly five years as a reporter at CU Journal and was appointed assistant managing editor in 2016. “Lisa knows this industry inside and out. She joined shortly before the Credit Union Membership Access Act was signed into law and has had a front-row seat to countless changes across the field. I’m lucky to have been mentored by her and others at this publication, and it’s a privilege to follow in her footsteps.”
