As difficult as this year has been, credit unions continue to make a difference in the lives of members through their finances and doing more for their respective communities. And COVID-19 doesn’t change the philosophy of credit unions: people helping people.

In that spirit, individuals that work for credit unions in Kansas, Minnesota, Michigan and Georgia are now joined together creating the #weCUgrads challenge with the idea of celebrating 2020 graduates through social media.

“We wanted to put together a challenge that any credit union large or small can get involved with” said Amanda Knodel from a credit union in Georgia.

The challenge is simple: use the #weCUgrads this week to show support to graduates who are missing out on their final chapter of school – their graduation ceremony.

Here are some options to help make this challenge the easiest as possible for every credit union:

  • Create a #weCUgrads watermark for your social media posts and banner
  • Use #weCUgrads templates and Profile frame

The challenge is an opportunity for credit unions to help put the spotlight back on graduating seniors and all that they have accomplished over the years. By joining together in this week long social media campaign, participating credit unions will offer a sincere congratulations by saying “we see you grads!” A “starter pack” including a logo, social media ideas, profile picture frame, and more is available for participating credit unions to use. Credit Unions are encouraged to get creative and adapt the campaign to fit their individual brand and style.

To join the challenge, reach out the Amanda at Amanda@pinnaclecu.org to learn more and receive a “starter pack” of information to get your credit union ready for #weCUgrads from May 4 to May 8.
