Jan. 15 is deadline for submitting 2019 Credit Union Diversity Self-Assessments to NCUA

Diversity, coupled with inclusion, should be a strategic business goal for credit unions. When made a priority, diversity and inclusion can help your credit union grow and better serve your membership.  Credit unions planning to submit a 2019 Voluntary Credit Union Diversity Self-Assessment to the National Credit Union Administration have until Jan. 15 to submit their forms.

The self-assessment form is available on the NCUA’s website here. The assessment is voluntary; it is not part of the NCUA’s or state regulators’ examination processes; and it has no impact on a credit union’s CAMEL rating.

The data credit unions voluntarily provide helps the NCUA better understand areas where guidance would be useful, such as the 2018 Credit Union Guide to Supplier Diversity.

While the cut-off date for 2019 submissions is Jan. 15, the self-assessment is available all year, allowing credit unions to begin their 2020 self-assessments, save them, and return to them later.

Visit the Credit Union Diversity webpage for additional resources to build and grow diversity and inclusion programs.
