Lizeth GeorgeJuntos Avanzamos is excited to share that there are currently two seats available on the Selection Committee and nominations are currently being accepted. Juntos Avanzamos works together with state credit union leagues and associations, mission-aligned business partners, and credit unions to expand financial inclusion to underserved Hispanic and immigrant communities nationwide. As such, Juntos Avanzamos has its own governance and advisory structures designed to further provide input and guidance as to the program’s future and development.
One of the main advisory structures is the Juntos Avanzamos Selection Committee. The Committee is composed of credit union practitioners with a commitment to financial inclusion and the Juntos Avanzamos financial inclusion framework. The Committee meets quarterly to review new Juntos Avanzamos applications and discuss best practices for new Juntos Avanzamos credit unions. Committee members serve as ambassadors, representing Juntos Avanzamos in regional and national events.
Juntos Avanzamos is currently looking for enthusiastic practitioners from Juntos Avanzamos credit unions to join the Committee and help us further the growth of financial inclusion in the United States. This is a volunteer position with a requirement to participate in a virtual meeting at least four times a year. Candidates will also be expected to represent Juntos Avanzamos and advocate for the program.
