Less Than One Month Left to Nominate an Individual or Organization for the 2024 Herb Wegner Memorial Awards

The National Credit Union Foundation (the Foundation) has opened nominations for the 2025 Herb Wegner Memorial Awards. To submit a nomination, individuals, and organizations should complete and return the Herb Wegner Memorial Award Nomination Packet with a minimum of five supportive references. The deadline for submission is Friday, July 26, at 5:00 p.m. CT.

The Herb Wegner Memorial Awards are the credit union movement’s highest national honors and recognize outstanding leaders, programs, and organizations that have made a lasting impact on the movement. They are presented each year at the Foundation Dinner — the Foundation’s annual fundraising event on March 3, 2025.

Nominations can be made in two categories:

  • Outstanding Individual Achievement, honoring an individual dedicated to promoting the credit union philosophy, whose leadership has had a lasting impact on the credit union movement.
  • Outstanding Organization or Program, honoring innovative institutions or initiatives that have measurably improved the local, national, or international credit union system.

The Herb Wegner Memorial Awards honors the late Credit Union National Association (CUNA) President and CEO, whose innovative actions revolutionized how credit unions serve their communities. The National Credit Union Foundation is proud to host these awards, the credit union movement’s highest national honors.
