LSCU provides free webinar concerning effects of CARES Act

In our continued effort to help our credit unions navigate the changes in the world since the coronavirus pandemic started, LSCU is again offering our member credit unions a free webinar on a timely topic. This is the third in a series of free webinars to provide insight into policies that will impact credit unions and their employees. It will be held April 2 at 2 p.m. ET.

Last week, Congress passed, and the President signed into law, the Coronavirus Aide, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act. The CARES Act will directly affect how credit unions are able to respond to their members needs, while also providing for direct economic assistance for many Americans. In the webinar, John McKechnie, senior partner at Total Spectrum, which is a government affairs consulting firm, will walk our members through the recently passed Act and be available to answer any specific questions credit union professionals may have. There will be plenty of time for Q&A during and following the presentation.

Register here.

Should time remain, LSCU will be happy to review current state and local regulations and answer any additional questions. We will once again be utilizing the Zoom platform to help control the flow of the presentation and ensure questions are answered. You will receive your login information after registering, and be sure to log in from your computer to participate using “hand raising” and chat features during this meeting.

If there are any specific topics or questions you would like addressed, please submit them ahead of time to Jennifer Martin by the close of business today.

During these unprecedented times, the League aims to be a resource to you for preparedness, supplying you with a compilation of the latest information, ideas for member support, communication tips and more in a comprehensive resource area located on the LSCU website.
