The League of Southeastern Credit Unions (LSCU), through the Credit Union National Association (CUNA), now America’s Credit Unions, recently recognized two affiliated credit unions for outstanding outreach to their members and communities.
Birmingham City Credit Union in Birmingham, Alabama, won first place for the Dora Maxwell Social Responsibility Community Services award among credit unions with less than $50 million in assets. The Dora Maxwell Social Responsibility Community Services award commends a credit union for its outstanding efforts in community projects.
Delta Community Credit Union in Atlanta, Georgia, received an Honorable Mention for the Desjardins Youth Financial Education award among credit unions with more than $1 billion in assets. With Credit Union National Association (CUNA) and the National Association of Federally Insured Credit Unions (NAFCU) merging into America’s Credit Unions, the CUNA Awards program has been suspended for 2024 while they assess a new combined awards program moving forward. Thus, the LSCU Awards will be the only awards platform available for credit unions in our tri-state footprint to honor their credit union or credit union professionals.
The LSCU Awards portal will soon be opening, and, for 2024, will be the only awards platform available for credit unions in our tri-state footprint to honor their credit union or credit union professionals. The nomination portal opens on Monday, January 29, and will remain open until Friday, March 22.
