For this week’s dose of Common Cents, you’ll hear about the rich tradition of credit unions and how they have developed to help people afford life. Listen here.
America’s Credit Union Museum, located in Manchester, N.H., has a plan to preserve and honor our shared credit union history. The unique museum is gathering information from credit unions leaders, past and present, including origin stories, images, documents and more. And America’s Credit Union Museum wants to hear from you.
Credit union staff in Alabama, Florida and Georgia are encouraged to share your stories of your beginnings to what’s happening now to ensure our states are represented and recognized for the good they do.
In its request for submissions, the museum page states, “The story of people helping people is timeless. From our industry’s humble roots to the work your credit union is doing today during the current covid-19 crisis; the credit union movement has always been about making a difference. Please help us capture the stories of your organization so it may be included in the museum’s database.”
