IBMSECU’s Southeast Credit Union Foundation host first Jingle Bells benefit
This month, IBM Southeast Employees’ Credit Union’s Southeast Credit Union Foundation is hosting its inaugural Jingle Bells at the Branches events. The SECU Foundation believes that children are our future and that investing in their success now is important.
Members of the community were invited to purchase a paper bell at a branch to hang on the walls, donate online, or drop off an unwrapped toy for a boy or girl aged 4-5. These events will help underprivileged children ages four and five to enjoy activities, eat holiday treats, collect gifts and meet our special guest from the North Pole.
Alabama CU partnerships raise funds to feed children in the state
Alabama Credit Union worked with Piggly Wiggly grocery store to raise $3,785 for Secret Meals For Hungry Children through your backpack fundraiser. Because of the drive, 27 children in the Tuscaloosa area will be provided with weekend food packs throughout the entire school year.
Alabama Credit Union works with many area businesses to benefit its Secret Meals For Hungry Children, a nonprofit program that supplies nutritious food packs to children living with food insecurity. One in four children in Alabama live with food insecurity, so Secret Meals fills this gap these children experience by discretely slipping food packs into their backpack on Fridays. Every penny of every donation goes to the purchase of food packs for local children.
