Avadian Credit Union celebrates new EBSCO branch
After finalizing the merger between EBSCO Federal Credit Union and Avadian Credit Union on Feb. 1, Avadian held its official ribbon cutting at the EBSCO Industries branch location on March 19. Several Avadian employees, board members, and many EBSCO Industries employees attended the event.
Located within the EBSCO Industries Corporate Office on Hwy. 280 in Birmingham, the EBSCO branch marks the 19th location for the credit union in the state and the 12th Birmingham area location.
“We’re thrilled to be a part of the Avadian family. Avadian gives us the opportunity to provide our members and EBSCO employees with a more in depth portfolio of products and services,” said Avadian Branch Manager Brian Spann. “We’re delighted to continue the growth of our membership through this exciting partnership with EBSCO Industries.”
Since the EBSCO branch is located within the EBSCO Industries Corporate Office, access to this location is only available to EBSCO employees.
Space Coast CU to open new branch in Homestead
Space Coast Credit Union recently announced it will open a new branch in Homestead, FL, located at 2804 NE 8th Street (Campbell Drive), Suite 104. The new branch expands SCCU’s reach in South Florida and promotes greater convenience for existing members in the area.
“We are pleased to announce the opening of our new Homestead branch,” said Luz Escoto, director of retail services, Miami-Dade. “This location will provide service to our members who live and work in Homestead, and it is conveniently situated near the turnpike exit in a highly-traveled area.”
The credit union’s new full-service branch features four drive-thru lanes, a drive-thru ATM and safe deposit boxes.
Envision CU recognized for outstanding video at national conference
Envision Credit Union (Envision) was honored with a Diamond Award at the annual Credit Union National Association (CUNA) Marketing and Business Development conference in San Francisco last week. The Diamond Awards, which recognize outstanding marketing and business development achievements, are awarded each year to credit unions across the nation. This year, Envision’s Infographic Video earned the credit union distinction among more than 1,100 entries.
“I am thrilled that our Infographic Video received a Diamond Award,” said Darryl G. Worrell, president and CEO of Envision. “The Envision staff works tirelessly to serve our members and our community every day, and this video highlighted the many ways our team helped others in 2016. To be recognized by our peers at the national level is an incredible honor.”
Designed for use at Envision’s employee retreat, the Infographic Video showcased the accomplishments of the Envision staff in 12 locations across North Florida and South Georgia. Highlights included the 9,890 loans worth more than $86 million extended to Envision members, as well as the $185,000 invested in education through programs like classroom grants and Educator Discount loan savings.
Diamond Awards are given by the CUNA Marketing & Business Development Council, a national network of more than 1,300 credit union marketing and business development professionals. Awards are given in each of 35 categories ranging from advertising to community events. This year’s Diamond Award is Envision’s third award in two years.
IBMSECU nominated for Visa’s Emerging Payment Adoption Award
The $1.09 billion IBM Southeast Employees’ Credit Union IBMSECU announced the CU is a finalist for the 2017 Client Achievement Award in Emerging Payment Adoption, nominated by the Visa Debit Processing Services.
The IBMSECU Card Services team, successfully enrolled a greater percentage of members in mobile and tokenized payments for debit cards than other financial institutions. Members can download the app and start swiping at checkouts with their phone today. When using a digital wallet, members’ card numbers are not stored on their device or shared.
