Inclusiv is planning its first Town Hall of the new year, “Advancing Diversity, Equity and Inclusion” on Jan. 12 at 1:15 p.m. ET to ensure your institution is at the forefront of this movement to better serve and expand credit union membership.
The economic and societal challenges of 2020 brought much-needed attention to existing racial and economic inequalities, sparking a cultural shift toward advancing DEI throughout various institutions. During the town hall, discussions include the groundbreaking $12 billion appropriations for CDFI and MDI institutions in the COVID stimulus bill and how credit unions can transform their diversity, equity and inclusion commitments from ideas into actionable steps.
Monica Davy, director of the office of minority and women inclusion at the NCUA, will discuss the NCUA’s Annual Diversity Self-Assessment for credit unions and the importance of its findings. Amy Nelson, president and CEO of Point West Credit Union, will share her credit union’s experience with the survey and advancing equity and inclusion within the diverse communities across Portland, Ore.
Attendees are strongly urged to complete the 2020 Annual Voluntary Credit Union Diversity Self-Assessment before the deadline Friday, Jan.15. The survey is designed to help credit unions assess existing diversity and inclusion practices and identify new practices to better serve membership.
