LSCU announces the winners of its annual awards contest with first place recipients moving further to compete at the national level in the CUNA Awards contest, representing the league. CUNA’s National Award programs are designed to encourage and recognize distinguished credit unions which demonstrate social responsibility (the Dora Maxwell Award), the credit union philosophy (the Louise Herring Award), and financial education (the Desjardins Awards).

Army Aviation Center Federal Credit Union’s “Under the Big Top with AACFCU” entry for the Desjardins Youth Financial Education Award in the More than $1 billion in assets category has placed first in the LSCU judging and has advanced to CUNA’s national level of competition.

Legacy Community Federal Credit Union’s entry “Legacy LIFE Lessons: Building a Better Tomorrow,” for the CUNA Desjardins Adult Financial Education Awards in the $250 million – $1 billion in assets category has placed first in the LSCU judging and has advanced.

First Commerce Credit Union’s “PowerUP!” entry for the CUNA Dora Maxwell Award in the $250 million – $1 billion in assets category has placed first in the LSCU judging and has advanced to CUNA’s national level.

New Horizons Credit Union’s “United Way Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Partnership & HiQ” entry for the CUNA Dora Maxwell Award in the $50 – 250 million in assets category has placed first in the LSCU judging rounds.

CUNA will announce the winners early next year. The LSCU thanks all of the credit unions submitting entries and congratulates these first place winners. Awards will be delivered to the recipients.
