Birmingham Business Journal released its list of the Top 25 federal PACs in the state of Alabama by total receipts during 2017 with the LSCU’s FedPAC coming in at Number 5 on the list with $179,780. The total amount represents funds raised in both Alabama and Florida.

The article went on to explain the list covers more than just political leaders, with organizations representing everything from BBVA Compass to the Alabama Peanut Producers Association. Total contributions to the top 25 PACs topped $3.7 million last year, with committees receiving more than $146,000 on average.

According to BBJ, “Total contributions to Alabama’s top federal political action committees fell by more than 24 percent in 2017, according to data from our newest list research. That follows a surge in donations during the prior year’s heated election cycle that more than doubled what the top PACs received in 2015.”
