Small credit unions have until Jan. 19 to qualify for two drawings for full scholarships to the CUNA Governmental Affairs Conference — set for Feb. 25-March 1 in Washington. To be eligible for the drawings, which are sponsored by CUNA Mutual Group, participants must subscribe to a Daily Digest or Real Time email notification for the Small Credit Union Community and post at least one question or response in the Discussion by Jan. 19. The Community is CUNA’s online peer-networking resource.

So far, nearly 700 users are signed up for the Small Credit Union Community, asking questions and sharing knowledge with their small credit union peers from across the country.

Top Discussion topics over the past month have centered on membership drive ideas, marketing partners for small credit unions, and staffing challenges.

“Not only are these folks giving themselves the opportunity to win a full scholarship to the biggest credit union event of the year, they’re also connecting with a large network of small credit union professionals to improve their operations,” said Tom Sakash, CUNA small credit union advisor. “The more people we have sharing and engaging on the Community, the larger the pool of knowledge, and the stronger this resource becomes.”

Contest winners will receive free registration to GAC, airfare, lodging for four nights, and incidentals. Winners will be announced Mon., Jan. 29 on the Small Credit Union Community, and will be recognized at the CUNA Small Credit Union Roundtable at GAC.

To subscribe to a Community email, visit the Community, click on “My Profile,” “Email Notifications,” and select Daily Digest or Real Time for the Small Credit Union Community in your notification settings.
