This week, the House is expected to consider H.R. 4, the FAA Reauthorization Act of 2018. The Senate is expected to consider S. 140, the Coast Guard Reauthorization Act. In addition, the Senate may consider the nominations of Stuart Kyle Duncan to be United States Circuit Judge for the Fifth Circuit and Mike Pompeo to be Secretary of State.

Several important hearings will be held in committee this week. Today, the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee will hold a hearing: “Mitigating America’s Cybersecurity Risk,” and the Senate Finance Committee will hold a hearing: “Early Impressions of the New Tax Law.”

On Wednesday, the House Committee on Financial Services Subcommittee on Housing and Insurance will hold a hearing: “HUD’s Role in Rental Assistance: An Oversight and Review of Legislative Proposals on Rent Reform,” and the Senate Small Business and Entrepreneurship Committee will hold a hearing: “Preparing Small Businesses for Cybersecurity Success.”

On Thursday, the House Committee on Financial Services Subcommittee on Capital Markets, Securities, and Investment will hold a hearing: “Oversight of the SEC’s Division of Corporation Finance;” the House Committee on Financial Services Subcommittee on Financial Services & General Government will hold a hearing: “FY 2019 Budget Hearing – Federal Communications Commission (FCC);” and the House Committee on Appropriations Subcommittee on State, Foreign Operations, and Related Programs will hold a hearing: “FY 2019 Budget Hearing – United States Agency for International Development (USAID)”

On Friday in Washington, the House Committee on Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Digital Commerce and Consumer Protection will hold a hearing: “Do Not Call: Combating Robocalls and Caller ID Spoofing,” and the House Financial Services Committee Subcommittee Financial Institutions and Consumer Credit will hold a hearing: “Implementation of FinCEN’s Customer Due Diligence Rule – Financial Institution Perspective.”
