Last week, Congress passed and the President signed into law H.J. Res. 123, a continuing resolution to fund government operations through December 22, 2017. This puts additional pressure on Congress to pass an omnibus spending bill for the rest of fiscal year 2018 at the same time as it is trying to enact the most comprehensive tax overhaul in 30 years.
This week, the House will consider a number of bills passed by the House Financial Services Committee. They are the “Iranian Leadership Asset Transparency Act” (H.R. 1638); the “Corporate Governance Reform and Transparency Act of 2017” (H.R. 4015); the “Strengthening Oversight of Iran’s Access to Finance Act” (H.R. 4324), the “Community Institution Mortgage Relief Act” (H.R. 3971); and the “Privacy Notification Technical Clarification Act” (H.R. 2396).
