This week, the House of Representatives will consider S. 1182, the National Flood Insurance Program Extension Act of 2018. This bill will extend the NFIP for an additional four months, until Nov. 30, 2018. Also, the House will consider H.R. 6199, the Restoring Access to Medication and Modernizing Health Savings Accounts Act of 2018; H.R. 6311, the Increasing Access to Lower Premium Plans and Expanding Health Savings Accounts Act of 2018; and H.R. 184, the Protect Medical Innovation Act of 2017. It is also possible that the House will consider the Conference Report to Accompany of H.R. 5515, the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2019.

The Senate will resume consideration of the nomination of Robert Wilkie to be Secretary of Veterans Affairs. The Senate is expected to begin consideration of a second “minibus,” specifically four bills passed by the Senate Appropriations Committee. The appropriations bills are the Financial Services and General Government; Interior, Environment, and Related Agencies; Transportation, Housing and Urban Development, and Related Agencies; and Agriculture, Rural Development, Food and Drug Administration, and Related Agencies.
