Sala Zake is the Performance Excellence Specialist at USF Federal Credit Union, and the President of LSCU’s YPG, North Tampa Bay Chapter. She has been with her credit union for seven years and has gained a wide array of knowledge from the departments she has worked in. Sala has a passion for developing and motivating young professionals in the credit union industry to reach their full potential. Her YP Group focuses on educational workshops, social networking events, and volunteer opportunities to engage their local community. Sala earned her Associate of Arts Degree from the University of South Florida and is completing her Bachelor of Arts Degree this year. Sala’s daughter just turned one year old and is her pride and joy. When she is not spending time with her family, she enjoys reading, gardening, and her pets.
Angela Smith’s journey championing the credit union movement began when she joined Avadian Credit Union in 2006 as a part-time teller. She’s held several different positions and titles over the last 18 years including Member Service Rep. Executive Assistant, Branch Manager, Accounting Manager, COO, and ultimately settling in as Fort McClellan Credit Union’s President & CEO. Angela is a CUNA Certified Credit Union Board Member (CCUB) and Certified Credit Union Supervisory Committee Member (CCUSC) with four children ages 10, 16, 17, and 20. In her spare time Angela loves visiting new places to enjoy delicious food, wine, and live music!
From and currently residing in Southeast, Georgia, Sache’ A. Rodriguez first entered the credit union world in 2021 at the age of 19. It has been an enlightening and humbling experience thus far. With GeoVista Credit Union, Sache’ currently holds a position in the Loan Center where she processes title work, backs up direct and indirect loan processing, and assists in outreach programs and marketing efforts. Like many others, she started as a Member Service Representative and worked diligently with curiosity and ambition to learn more about the credit union movement and its purpose. In her short time being a part of and exploring her interest in the credit union movement, she has recognized that superb member experience and connection is a commodity in the credit union movement, and everyone strengthens that very core value. Her advice to fellow young professionals is to never lose that curiosity and ambition to further the credit union movement because “movement” is derived from “move or momentum,” which means the job is to further and enhance the work of those who came before and inspire those who are to come after. Sache’ looks forward to sharing her experiences with others.
