Common Cents with North Georgia Credit Union CEO/President Brian Akin

As legislative sessions are underway in Alabama, Florida and Georgia, the LSCU Advocacy Team is making sure lawmakers are educated on credit union issues and concerns. With many legislative priorities being made at the state level, the LSCU Advocacy Team continues to work diligently on Project 2020.

Project 2020 focuses on corporate giving to our state-level PACs including Georgia CUPAC because these dollars remain in the donor’s respective states. These corporate contributions impact state-level legislators and candidates who can have a massive positive influence on the credit union industry. Corporate giving is a simple process and a great way to show your credit union’s support of holding lawmakers while holding candidates accountable for their actions.

You can listen here to this week’s Common Cents, The LSCU Podcast as LSCU Board Chair and the CEO/President of North Georgia Credit Union Brian Akin explains why he’s a Project 2020 supporter with Blake Westbrook, LSCU’s Director of Political Action & Grassroots.
