Navigator shares holiday joy with children in community

Employees of Navigator Credit Union in Mississippi, an affiliate of LSCU, gave up a Friday night in December to spread a little Christmas cheer to Gulf Coast children at the Lynn Meadows Discovery Center’s “Kids Street Christmas” event. The credit union mascot, Navvi-Gator (the financially savvy gator), put on his Santa suit and joined St. Nick in taking pictures and sharing hugs while Navigator employees gave away balloons and coloring sheets.

The event was provided a fun, creative forum for children to make their own jingle bells, Christmas cards and ornaments, and enjoy hot chocolate, cookies, and reindeer food. They also enjoyed face painting and story time, along with a special presentation by Wings Performing Arts.

“The event was a wonderful orchestration of activities for children of every age,” commented Navigator’s Chief Communications Officer Kathy Scarbrough. “We’re so glad to be part of an event that focuses on brining fun into children’s lives as they use their talents to create keepsakes and take the time to appreciate the arts.”
