McCoy Federal Credit Union sponsors Lancaster Elementary School students for Christmas
For many years, McCoy Federal Credit Union has partnered with Lancaster Elementary to make sure children in need have a Christmas. This year, McCoy Federal Credit Union and its employees sponsored 76 children. Through this partnership, McCoy Federal employees sponsor a child or multiple children and provide gifts of clothing, toys, books, and more.

For many children, these are the only gifts they wake up to on Christmas morning. Additional monetary help is provided by McCoy Federal business partners that allow the help to extend to more children.

“McCoy Federal Credit Union is honored to continue our partnership with Lancaster Elementary and support children in need this Christmas,” said Alvin Cowans, president and CEO of McCoy Federal Credit Union. “I’m proud that our employees and business partners give so generously to make the lives of the children in our community better.”

The Infirmary FCU shares hope in fight against breast cancer
One of this year’s Hope Sponsors for Making Strides Against Breast Cancer of South Alabama was The Infirmary Federal Credit Union, which helped to spread hope in 2018. The organization sent an official “thank you” to The Infirmary FCU and its other sponsor, Chicken Salad Chick, for their support at events throughout the year.

Making Strides Against Breast Cancer is a non-competitive walk to raise money for the American Cancer Society’s fight against breast cancer while increasing public awareness regarding early detection of breast cancer and the importance of advocating for breast cancer research funding and access to diagnostic screenings.

USF FCU staff unveil gingerbread masterpieces before Christmas
The spirit of the season was alive and well at USF Federal Credit Union. On Dec. 14, after a day of heavy hot cocoa drinking, the staff was ready to present their gingerbread house masterpieces. Creativity and talent went into each of the houses, which would surely have qualified for a substantial mortgage if they were on the market.

On Dec. 13, credit union members came face to face with holiday characters, including the Grinch, Santa, elves, and reindeer.
