Brooke Smedley has taken office as president/CEO of NRS Community Development Federal Credit Union, headquartered in Birmingham, AL,  succeeding Eunice Rogers, who retired.

“As a single mother of twin daughters and a native of Birmingham, Alabama, I am aware of the need within our community for financial assistance which allows small business owners, low-income citizens, and entrepreneurs from minority groups to establish and achieve financial goals,” Smedley said.

Smedley graduated from the University of North Alabama with a bachelor of science in athletic training and earned her MBA from Liberty University. She began her career in the financial industry as an assistant manager for  Wells Fargo Financial followed by a position as an account manager for Mortgage Lenders Network USA, Inc., as account manager. She later worked with Wells Fargo Auto Finance as a consumer loan underwriter and served as member service representative and mortgage specialist at Chartway FCU.  Between June 2014 and mid 2018, Smedley worked as a dealer service consumer loan underwriter/senior credit analyst at Wells Fargo Auto.
